Oh Lassoh is my paean to edibles, eateries and merriment, and a chronicle of all things good.
I live in Portland, Oregon after stints in Hawaii, Vermont, England, and San Francisco. I love pumpkins, hunter horseback riding, coffee, cycling, teux deux lists, peonies, mochi, abbreviating words, skiing, gin, tipis, Dove Vivi pizza, whiskey, things that are shiny, bacon, driftwood, polaroids, the Big Island, Fire King, ephemera, nutmeg, Waiki’i Ranch, barns, and Cecil Beaton.
Hemingway’s lovely A Moveable Feast says it best: “As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy and to make plans.”
